The Department of Trade and Industry, through its E-Commerce Program Office, has updated the Philippine E-Commerce Roadmap 2016. Last 29 January 2021, the office has launched the eCommerce Philippines 2022 Roadmap with an official tagline, “Basta eCommerce, MADALI. Market Access. Digitalization. Logistics Integration.”
The new framework focuses on the three (3) S: SPEED, SECURITY, STRUCTURE to increase SALES.
Updating the roadmap started in 06 August 2019 during the Transition Review Event, “Dialogue with the DTI Secretary”, highlighting the need to “build trust between online sellers and online consumers”. Focused Group Discussions (FGD) covering the e-commerce ecosystem was also organized. DTI engaged the digital platforms, Payments, Logistics, and Government and asked them about the impediments to ecommerce growth, and strategies to address the gaps. CLICK HERE for details.
